Facing Life’s Challenges Head-on
During the summer our international program students were lucky enough to have a special guest speaker from Taiwan Foundation for the Blind (愛盲基金會) come to talk to them. Their director, Mr. Steven Chang, is visually impaired and talked to the students about how his life changed after suffering from an accident, and how he copes in his daily life with this disability. It was a fascinating talk for our students, online parents and also teachers. After describing his every day circumstances, the students paired up and experienced what it is actually like to live being blind.
To finish the event, students worked together in small groups and were given different scenarios where they had to think of suitable ways to overcome these problems. The students learned many valuable lessons from our remarkable guest that will hold them in good stead.
