You don’t need to travel to make new friends!
Here at Wego, our pen pal participating students have been having a great time continuing to write and send each other videos. A hundred students in grades four and five have been experiencing the joys of communicating to their friends in Keio Elementary School, Tokyo, by recording their self-introductions. They just finished posting their handmade Christmas cards to make sure that they arrived in time for their friends in Japan. Our students were overcome with excitement to receive their Christmas cards from Keio students. For some, this was their first time ever to receive a Christmas card!
Our older students in grades five and six have also been busy with their pen pals. Our students recorded videos describing what makes them happy. They also wrote letters introducing Beitou District to their American friends in The Archer School for Girls, Los Angeles. This language exchange program is a great opportunity for our students to improve their English and practice using it in real-life situations.
Having a pen pal is such a rich experience for our students. We are so lucky to make friends for life with others from all over the world.
